A Fairy Tale Wedding in Las Vegas

January 7, 2015 by McKenzi Taylor

Fairy Tale Wedding in Las Vegas at TPC Summerlinby McKenzi Taylor

A fairy tale wedding and a gown fit for a princess are what a lot of young girls dream about when they think of their future wedding. I’m inclined to believe that my bride Jackie was one of these little girls because when I arrived at the TPC Summerlin to photograph her big day the scene before me was definitely fairy tale worthy. The lush grounds of the golf course provided a picturesque ceremony backdrop while the reception hall was embellished with candles, lace, fresh flowers, and accents of pink and gold. When I saw Jackie in her blush colored ball gown complete with a Julia Roberts wattage smile on her face she could have put Disney princesses like Cinderella and Belle to shame. In a word – gorgeous. And it was only fitting that this fairy tale princess bride made her grand entrance in a horse and carriage.

Jackie and John, like so many couples that I encounter as a wedding and elopement photographer, wanted their big day to be memorable and fun. However, instead of being solely about them, this humble princess and her prince wanted to focus on the celebration itself and the important family and friends who were able to attend and join in the festivities. The horse and carriage entrance definitely made a statement, but Jackie wanted it because she thought it would be fun for the kids, who were able to pet Duke, the horse, and take rides in the carriage after the ceremony. Similarly, the ice cream bar after dinner was also selected with the kids in mind. Adult guests were invited to take home one of the infused vodka wedding favors that Jackie made.

All of these details contributed to Jackie and John’s fairy tale worthy celebration with family and friends and I have no doubt that they achieved the memorable and fun wedding day that they were hoping for.
