Kailee and Stephen truly wanted a fun wedding day, full of class and style, but also accents of their fun and crazy personality! They surprised their guests with a beautiful scene at the Westin and Lake Las Vegas but still had a bit of “Vegas” with the iconic Elvis singing and performing for their wedding day. This sweet Las Vegas elopement at Westin at Lake Las Vegas was everything we could have dreamed for and this couple was such a blast.
Why did you choose this particular venue or location?
We chose the Westin Lake Las Vegas, because of it’s style and scenery. The Westin captured the class we were going for, while adding gorgeous views and scenery for a beautiful backdrop for photos. We wanted to blow our guests away with the views and scenery, and not have them expect the “typical” Las Vegas wedding. We wanted jaws to drop and to have our guests enjoy the lake, mountains, and palm trees!
What was your vision for your wedding day?
Our vision was to have a classic and vintage feel, with intimacy and romance. After the ceremony, however, we wanted to show our fun and spontaneous side and have our guests see it all!
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
It’s honestly so hard, because I enjoyed every part of it! I planned my wedding in three weeks, so all of it was my favorite, because everything just came together so perfectly and I couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Was anything handmade or DIY at your wedding?
The only thing we had handmade were our center pieces at our reception dinner. We had masons jars sitting inside a burlap bag and pulled the bag down just under the opening of the mason jar and tied a lace ribbon around it. We put LED candle votives inside and they made the perfect center pieces!
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their day?
People think we are crazy for planning our wedding in three weeks, but for us, it was perfect. I’m somewhat of an indecisive person and if I had more time, I would have changed my mind so many times. With this being a destination wedding and planning it in such a short amount of time, I didn’t give myself time to sit on decisions or go back and forth between decisions. I had to go with my gut and what I thought was best, and it turned out to be the most perfect day; right down to every little detail. The best advice I can give is to have fun when you’re planning, and to trust your gut with whatever decisions you make. My husband constantly reminded me not to stress over anything, because this process is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, so remember to keep it that way and have fun with one another 🙂 And remember, it will all work itself out no matter what!
