R + H decided that they wanted to get married somewhere beautiful, so they chose the Mandalay Bay Valley of the Falls for their ceremony, but then they wanted to spice it up a bit for their reception. Not only did this destination wedding couple from the U.K. plan a Vegas wedding, they also wanted it to feel anything but traditional. Lucky for them, they were able to hold their Las Vegas wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino which is the same location they met (Body English).
The reception was full of dancing and sweet treats. The dessert table was mostly DIY, as R made a bunch of the signs herself. She even went as far as saying that crafting was her favorite part of the planning process. Other DIY projects that she made were the program fans, bubble wands and a thank you sign to hold up during photos that could be used as the thank you cards.
Why did you choose this particular venue or location?
Choosing Mandalay Bay Valley of the Falls was all about the scenery. I loved that it was in Vegas, but had a completely different feel. We picked the reception at the Hard Rock, because that’s where we met and we loved the decor in Body English, as well!
What was your vision for your wedding day?
I wanted the ceremony to be gorgeous and for everyone to feel it be a little more traditional, but the reception to be just a big party. It was exactly that!
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
I like crafting, so the little odds and ends where my favorite part.
Was anything handmade or DIY at your wedding?
I made some signs for the sweets table, program fans, and bubbles for the ceremony. I made a thank you sign, as well.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their day?
Don’t stress! I enjoyed every minute of it and didn’t get upset if something didn’t happen like it was supposed to; it made it easy on myself and everyone else!
