I ventured out to do some Red Rock Canyon photography the other day with a family from Colorado. Rya, who is also my personal trainer (BodyGlo) had her parents visiting her in Las Vegas for a week, so I suggested she get some family photos done. She kind of laughed at me at first but once she shared the idea with her parents they were thrilled. It made me realize that we often don’t take the time to get family photos once our children are grown adults. If you really think about it, the only time you get photographs taken are: senior high school portraits, your wedding and then a few family photos through out your kid’s childhood. Once your children are older, we stop – I wonder why?
The photos matter just as much as they did when your children were toddlers! You don’t love your kids any less and I am certain you see them less, so it’s funny that we just figure family photographs are over once children are old enough to go to college. Forget that though, make sure you capture the memories through your life; not just when your kids are kids! 🙂
Here’s to capturing your adventure and to this family for inspiring this blog post!
Thanks McKenzi! We had a good time, even though the wind almost blew us away. I know my parents very much appreciated the photo session 🙂
I love the crispness and clarity of these photos.
These ae great pictures. More families should get pictures taken they grow older. I did this with my parents a few years before my dad passres away and I am so glad I have them. What a great idea. Thanks these Are just what my wife and I were looking for.
We love the pictures!! What a wonderful job Mckenzi did of capturing our family in these beautiful photos. She has a way of making you feel totally comfortable with her humor and charm. I would recommend doing this to anyone who might be a little intimidated by having their photo taken because Mckenzi makes you feel like its a natural thing to do. What a wonderful treasure for our future memories. Thank you Mckenzi! You rock!
These pictures came out Great! Can’t wait to do a shoot with Rya!
Hey Adam! It’s funny because I think I met you before I met Rya! You came to my little table space at an event! Hope to get to know you a bit better, soon!
Love these pictures. Reminds me of my wedding photos when our photographer took great
photos making the best use of natural light. You all look healthy, glowing and beautiful !
Great photos!
I was blown away at the pictures you took of the Tillmans. You captured this family perfectly! After seeing these pictures I really want to get my family on board. Thanks for sharing such beautiful shots of a great looking family!
Such a beautiful family!!!! Your post definitely made me want to take photos with my family. Just cuz we’re old doesn’t mean the family photos should end. Plus less chance of crying babies or unwilling teenagers 🙂 Great photos!
