Today my blogging schedule said “family”. This meant I was supposed to write about family photography in some capacity or another. I am not sure what struck me about this marble that made me change my entire blogging calendar, but I decided today I would blog about a marble instead! 🙂
I was walking to a networking meeting this morning at about 7am. I was in a bit of a rush because I was about late and I hate showing up to events, appointments or meetings late. So I was hurrying along. I saw a little piece of what appeared to be glass lying on the ground and I at first overlooked it for about half a second. I promptly turned around and noticed that a little green marble was sitting still in the crosswalk area.
My point here is that, I really feel like I was supposed to see that marble in an effort to slow down, breathe, and enjoy this journey we call life. How many people do you think walked past that marble before I picked it up, smiled a little, and put it in my pocket? I wonder who dropped it in the first place and the stories and places this particular marble has heard or been! For such a small, simple object it really has a beauty that is undeniable. A perfect sphere shape, clear glass, and some streaks of color through it. Simple. Beauty. How was this marble not in the drainage system already? I really wonder how many marbles are in our cities drainage system! 🙂 I could go on and on!
Life is a process that I thoroughly enjoy. We all can lose site of our objectives, goals, dreams, aspirations and then before you know it we lose track of time and we aren’t where we thought we should be. I am not in that position, thankfully. I do tend to get distracted from time to time, I might not always use my “business” hours the way I “should” but I do genuinely enjoy this life that I get to live! And that… makes me smile!
Oh and who can resist a few photo of Cheddar (my super smart, mouse-toy fetching kitty)!
